I saw a post recently telling people on LinkedIn to stop talking about themselves and instead talk about what their clients want.
Ok so this is my response to that logic.
Nobody likes to be sold.
But we all love a story.
And if it’s a true story even better.
Now if you only put up posts on how great you are, sure people will tire of that.
But if you share the story on how you achieved that level of greatness, and the struggles you overcame along the way to get there, then you have a great story on your hands.
You see, it’s about the journey.
And who else’s journey would you know better than your own?
If you only talk about what your client wants then it’s a commercial.
It’s not personal.
It’s not authentic.
So my advice is, do talk about yourself.
Share your story.
Tell the world about your struggles and how you overcame them…
So that they can be inspired and realize the truth is, to achieve any level of greatness struggle is always a part of that journey.
And your story is proof of that.
